Just think for a minute on the big picture. Last year, Canada was a homerun hire by most accounts and a offensive genius. LSU's offense was not bad this year in total, especially as the year progressed it got better. So, it is not like Canada all of a sudden is a bust. He is still a very sought after OC for any program and maybe HC for a small school, which is his ultimate desire, eventually. So, if you think LSU is just "parting ways" without Canada already having a job lined up you are naive. There is a decent chance Canada stays put as a Plan B, but all I can say is that its LSU's decision at this point.

If he is not in the running for a Plan B, LSU would have "parted ways" before the bowl game. Period.

The dominoes will fall Monday night / Tuesday and possibly as early as this Sunday. This is all the info i got, its a waiting game now.

Let me be blunt.

LSU's best chance at a playoff appearance next year is to keep Canada.

It's that simple.

*ETA -- If LSU "parts ways" with Canada over some personal nonsense, O should take full responsibility for the offense taking a step back next year, which it almost certainly will as the whole team learns a new system / scheme.

Makes more sense than most anything I've read today.

I don't think it's naive.

The personal issues seem to be irreparable. So, staying may not be an option. And, no matter who LSU might have "lined up" nothing is done until it's done.

It's highly unlikely that anyone is a definite hire at this point.
