Is there a petition for an independent investigation into who ordered the last minute substitution of an ex-Falcon player ref replacing a ref without prior notice or even having his name listed correctly for Saints coaches?

I always find it funny how fans jump on the head referee like he is the one calling every bad penalty on their team. He is just the guy who tells you what the penalty is for TV purposes. He has a whole team of referees making bad calls but we only want to blame him

What calls in particular are they pissed about? I only saw 2 clear missed calls (DPI no call and DPI picked up flag) and I don’t think either affected the score. I know on the picked up flag they ran for a 1st down the next play almost to the point where a penalty would have put them.
There are worse officiated games every week somewhere in the league.

5 of their penalties were false starts, off sides or illegal subs. Are we supposed to think it is the refs faults that they played undisciplined? Those are on them. You take those out and the game was called pretty even.
With that said Shon did get there early but it did not affect the game.

we have some idiot fans (as do all fan bases)....the game was a little odd on some calls I will say. That is not why they lost, see the terrible redzone offense or the 2 fumbles inside of the 5 yard line for that.... but this just makes us look stupid collectively ...move on, lose this week and it doesn't matter for shite what the refs in week 16 did (still doesn't matter win or lose really it's over). Win this week and maybe get another trip for a rubber match in NOLA.

I have yet to see how the Saints got screwed in week 14. It was nothing like what we saw this past Sunday. Not even in the same universe.
That was liked by 6 people.
We had 11 penalties. They had 9 first downs from penalties. How do you just ignore this?

Bingo. And let's not forget that illegal formation penalty on the field goal that took away 3 points off the board. Until they have these types of penalties that legitimately affect the scoreboard, then I don't want to hear another word from their fans about the calls.

Agreed. However, on your "butt-caption" one of your DE's also lined up offsides (1). He was well over the blue line (which isn't always accurate) and also his hand was past the ball. Was not called against the Saints. Was on ATL.
(2 and 3) 2 DPI's. 1 picked up and ruled uncatchable. Even the announcer asked the question, "how would they know if it was uncatchable if the defender didn't even allow Julio to make the catch because he was interfering?"
(4) Only then to get a PI against Atlanta even though Brees's pass was a solid 5 yards higher than the receivers head.
(5) You had a touchdown get upheld even though 1/3rd of the ball was beyond the white line.
(6) You had some random unsportsmanlike conduct against freeman even though both players were yapping at each other.
In short, New Orleans had 0 penalties in the 1st half (which I think was the 1st of their whole season) while ATL had 6-7 in the first half. Some their own fault, some were garbage.
Neither game seemed to be officiated very well and yet both visiting teams had a chance to still win.

I don't think Falcons fans are ignoring it. I think our defense is that of those 11, 1-2 of those directly resulted in 1st downs from the plays themselves. A few more were on 1st or second down where we picked up a lot of yards on that down even if the penalty had not happened.
In our game, they gave us first downs - ok. Saints still had chances to stop us. In this last game, they blatantly took away 7 points and even helped to put ATL in a 1st and 40 situation. 1st and 40, cmon.
It's silly to keep arguing about refs, we're both 1-1. We both have good teams, albeit the falcons are more inconsistent and that's evident by having 2 fewer wins than NO this year.

That’s cute. You think they had a chance to win. Lol. You got into the end zone with 3 mins left. You were down 3 scores right before.

According to the list above, Saints fans only real gripes are #3, #7, #8 and #9. Even those are suspect, except #3. I wholeheartedly agree that the Roughing the Passer call was garbage.
Most of the others were on 1st down and we got a huge chunk on that down from the play or like #6, we had already obtained the 1st down and just chose to take the penalty.

Sure we did. Give us the TD that Julio scored and if Free doesn't fumble at the 2 and it's a whole new ballgame. Hell, just give us the TD back that Julio scored and it's a 3 point game. Taking ATL's late TD off the board is as dumb as me taking off NO's last 15 second TD before the half.
It's impossible to tell how the score would've played out in a scenario that never occurred. I have just as much right to say we COULD HAVE won as you do saying we didn't even have a chance.

... and finally, to the OP, any Falcon fans that sign a petition to have a ref fired is silly. Just as silly as Saints fans posting the former falcon ref kids pictures online.
This shite is a game and to take it to that level is sad and well beyond my level of interest in a game. I do wish that in the NFL they have FULL TIME refs and that they be held accountable for the SLEW of bad calls that have gone one all across the league this year but I also realize they're human and fallible. But just this series alone where in 2 games one team is substantially penalized more than the other just seems silly.

I don't understand this either.

Yea, we'll need it. I fully expect a tipped pass to bounce off of someone's helmet, onto another defender's foot and then off of a WRs back and then back to a CAR DBs hands.
Sometimes, it's fate.
