I agree with this, Lee was not the answer, but Mett possibly could have been. Bama was crashing the ends and outside linebackers all night long. As Clemson has shown over the last two years, slants are pass plays that work against their defense, but Mett would have been the only one capable of throwing those passes. Whether he would have delivered or not is another story, but it should have been tried
