People!
I need info on the negotiating part with a dealer!
I’m not worried about the car. I need to know if $1500 off is the equivalent of kicking me in the balls. I was thinking at least 3k?

We looked at a Subaru once and the dealer didn't budge much on the price then either. I think they control the production of those cars pretty close.
I like the engine.
We didn't buy it but I did come away impressed and would certainly not mind owning one.

From what I’ve heard about them, they don’t do much negotiating at all. What you see on the sticker is what you get. Family member bought one recently and that was the report from their buying experience.

Try looking at the denver dealerships. They sell a shitload of those cars up there so I bet you could get a better deal. Get a one way ticket on spirit for like $50 and drive it home.

In that case, go to your banking institution and look at the information they have which tells you how much the dealer is paying for the car, and this is NOT the MSRP. My credit union has this information. Yours should, too. Negotiate from there. Dealer and salesman have got to make something. They ain't selling them to just break even.

Gonna have to go in before they do more negotiating. The price they give in an email is just a start. You aren't real to them until you test drive. Then be willing to walk. Id almost suggest planning a walk out. Not in an angry way, just go early in the day, then say you've got another deal to check on. Call back a few hours later and see if it's the best they can do as you are about to sign other papers or something and wanted to check one last time.

What diff does it make how much they come down? I mean, isn't it equally as important where they started? Mark it up 4 come down 3?
Either it's worth it or it isn't, right? I don't know a lot about Subarus other then they seem to be northern phenomenon, due to the AWD and the snow. I know a Subaru fan from Minnesota. I asked him what the deal was with them and he starts naming all the problems he had with his previous Subarus. Goddamn if I'd have bought another one.
