Wasn't that a gose? If so, most goses are seasonal summer beers.
As for the rest of the genre, no, they're generally not "seasonal" per se. It's more that they're ready when they're ready. You can find a lot on the shelves year round, but you might not have the same ones on the shelf year round.

Yes, I think that's the issue. Most gose will be released in the summer.
I have a decently hard time finding good sours too, though.
