Unfunded liabilities are not debt. They're not the same thing. Do you count medical care that you'll need to pay for 20 years from now as part of your debt?

Yes they will elect Dims for the foreseeable future.
I just wish they would put their money where their mouths are.
They should make their minimum wag $20/hr, follow the Paris Protocol on CO2, and pay for their sanctuary illegal aliens without the feds.

Why yes. Yes i do. Cause I'm not an idiot

You'd think so, but most people out here buy the Dem schtick hook, line and sinker.

No more elections in Cali. They only hold selections now.
Truthfully, I wish they would leave the US. Pull the govt offices, the military bases and everything else the American people pay for.
La Raza will take over and it'll be at a 3rd World level for quality of living within a year.

Gavin Newsom and Villaretardo are terrible and exactly what CA deserves.

For all PoliBoard posters who hate on Gov Jerry Brown:
Does YOUR State have a 7 BILLION dollar budget surplus, and YOUR State, if it were a country, the world's 7th largest economy?
I admire Gov. Brown. He's so energenic for an octogenarian and exudes an undying optimism.

California. Surplus. California has a 1.7 billion dollar deficit in 2017. Where are you getting 7 billion surplus?
Bet you loved gray davis too. You are too far gone.

Will the GOP Tax Bill Stall California's Economic Growth?
From the LA Times. California has been doing fairly well. The tax bill probably won't help much.

Since emerging from the Great Recession, California has outpaced the nation in job growth, adding 2.3 million new jobs, an increase of 15.5% since 2012, versus 10.3% for the U.S. overall. Home prices have also been booming, especially in Southern California and the Bay Area. The median home price in California stood at $512,800 in October, 68% higher than at the beginning of 2012 — nearly double the increase seen nationally.
quote:
Republicans have said that by slashing business taxes, they will supercharge the American economy, benefiting both C-suite executives and the average American. Economists generally expect a short-term boost to growth, though they doubt the cuts will be a game changer for either the larger economy or the typical worker.
But for California, there are particular challenges buried in the tax bill, and some economists believe that could ultimately prove a drag on growth and harm the state’s competitiveness.

I thought libs liked the wealthy paying more. You telling me you want the rich California landowners to get tax breaks at the expense of the middle class?
The drag on the states competitiveness are their extraordinary tax rates. They want to blame the Feds for having 12 percent? Hilarious.

If you were legally obligated to pay those medical expenses, to not consider it as debt in some fashion is financially unsound
