Seems like she could have just shot them fairly quickly before they realized how strong her armor was. Or called for help. Definitely makes more sense than shutting down the entire bases defense shield.

Why was it necessary to make Captain Phasma a thing with this "Maid of Tarth" title and armor backstory?
