He left once and came back. Do we take him back again?
Are we that desperate?

Of course we do. I guarantee you this was a tough decision for him and he left on good terms.
When his name started popping up regarding UT, I dismissed the rumors because I didn't think any new staff would have the trust that Orgeron and company had in him. I assume UT will get this sorted out, but he had to know there would be a feeling out period before he got the kind of autonomy he had at LSU.

We aren't desperate. The position remains open. It likely will until (if/when) AT puts pen to paper at UT. If that doesn't work out and AT wishes to stay at LSU, then you let him and give him the raise you originally offered because he already earned it. He's good at what he does, and already familiar with the operation, so I can't see a reason to turn him away if it turns out Tennessee didn't have greener pastures after all.

Yes, absolutely.

I understand where you are coming from but for him he left for a seemingly better opportunity only to be brought back and have his role expanded.
I also can't fault the guy for wanting to go home. If that doesn't work out then you absolutely take him back.
