Logically, someone please tell me why 'O was a better hire than Les Miles. If you respond with emotion, don't bother. I'm looking for reasoning as to why Ed Orgerson will make LSU a better program with respect to:
-Recruiting
-Talent/Player development
-Strategy/coordinator retention
-Winning/Championships
Ceteris paribus. do not bring O's record at Ole Miss/ability to speak like a hick, like I won't bring up Les Mile's development of Ok. State into a championship contending program. Being reasonable, to the best of your ability, I'd like to hear your arguments.

Plain and Simple......... it was time for a change. Miles would not change his Offense.... O and Ensminger set a few records with Les’ playbook.
O might not have been the shiney choice, but considering what else is out there, now seems like the safe choice until Saban is gone.

"Until Sabin is gone?" Les did pretty well against Saban with inferior talent until 2011, the year Alabama had no business being in the BCS NCG. What's O's record against Alabama? it's up to you: want to include his Ole Miss record or not?

O is 0-1 as the HC against Saban....... Les was on the slide bro. Les would never beat Saban again the way things were going. That’s a fact. Tim Williams was on BR radio laughing about the fact they knew every single play that was coming....... that’s sad.
Answer me this........ why hasn’t Miles been hired by another power 5 school?

You think we had inferior talent to Alabama until 2011? That's laughable. From 2007 to 2011 we had equal or better talent than Alabama.

Miles was not fired in order to hire Orgeron. Whether it was a good move or not relative to Miles will be determined in the next 2 to 3 seasons.

Ummmmm...... Bama Player from Baton Rouge......... dude was laughing his arse off saying they knew every play LSU was gonna run for 3 straight years.
That’s why Miles was fired

What logical reason is there to conclude Orgeron is a better replacement for Les?
I got nothing.

So from 2007-10, Les went 2-2 against Saban (including a loss in OT) with INFERIOR talent. And then from 2011-2015 went 1-5 against Saban with equal or better talent?
That’s asinine.

quote:How did you deduct that? Alabama out-recruited LSU post 2011 for sure. Not sure about pre-2011. I believe that the BC NCG broke all of us, including Les. They had no business being in that game. Broken system as shown by the lowest [TV] rating ever for a NCG.

Miles was fired because he said he’d change the offense and didn’t.
O is only in his first full season as the HC so no, he isn’t better than Miles. Frankly, he has some big shoes to fill. With that being said, he did well not letting the team fold after the Moo State and Troy debacles. He admitted to meddling in the offense in the Troy game and hasn’t done it since. He’s allowed the coordinators to do the job they were hired to do.
For that, he deserves credit.

quote:I genuinely appreciate the quality response. It seems like we're undergoing the Brady Hoke/Michigan experiment, where Hoke played the part of ceO. In theory, that system would work great if you didn't have to swap your coordinators every 2-3 years.

I don’t really see it that way. I could see why though you’d think that.
There were riffs between O and Canada, O made bad moves by publicly throwing the kickers under the bus but he did stop that nonsense. And we’ve trended upward since.
So here’s to continuing our upward trend.
