So the students in 2017 won't stay past halftime of the football games and don’t even bother to show up for basketball games, or if they do show up try to hide next to the old people so as not to look foolish by cheering for their class mates.

Sounds like we know where the problem lies.

I'm a student and I go to every game possible that I can but never sit in the bleachers because
1. You can't see shite
2. The people that usually sit in the bleachers are losers and weird
They should move the student section and move those dumbass media seats, the whole seating arrangement in the PMAC kind of sucks.
But normally for the big games me and my buddies will get drunk and get a big group to move down into the bleachers, camped out for OU 2 years ago and will probably camp out for Kentucky.

I have seen more rowdy student sections at CSAL middle school games than LSU gets for basketball. Its pretty pathetic actually.

Like Chopique said, many no shows and the majority leave at halftime for football games, and they don't show up at all for basketball games.

look millennial, in life you dont get shite for free. You need to earn/prove your worth. you want the cherished media seats, pack the fricking student section creating a need for overflow seating. Until, quit crying.

oh and thanks for laying it on the line last year for OU and this year for UK. you are amazing

Yeah, I'm posting three straight times in this thread.
Last Sunday, they gave the 1st 2,000 fans christmas LSU shirts. As I'm walking toward the PMAC 30 min prior to tip off, here comes some fricking dickwad nerd listing to star wars on audio book with earbuds in, carrying 3 fricking shirts to his dorm to play doom. The little pussy didnt even go to the game........walking in, got his free tshirts and left. I dont know why it made me so mad but I wanted to tackle that clown.

oh, and the student section was a barren wasteland as usual

So why the students don't attend basketball games?

Because school is out. The students are home. There's a waiting list for student tickets for Kentucky.

Are you saying that there are no students that live within driving distance of the PMAC?

Our basketball front running fans have a worse phobia about Kentucky basketball than the football fan base has about Alabama football. Why bother to show up for the Kentucky game if you don't care enough to show up against Auburn, Texas A&M, and Arkansas? Those conference games count just as much as the Kentucky game. If the only game you show up for is the Kentucky game, you might as well wear blue.

Unlike the good 'ol open enrollment days, the majority of LSU students live out of state, a plurality of which live in Texas. Of those from Louisiana, only a relatively small number are actually from the Baton Rouge area. Considering that only a small percentage of students actually care about basketball enough to show up, combined with the relatively small percentage of those students who do show up who bother to sit in the terrible seats down low behind the goal, and there you go.

Of the entire student body, less than 10% live in the BR area (i.e. driving distance) during winter break.

Kentucky is our conference opener...

Lsu knows students aren't going to fill up their section so they told students they had to sign up for student tickets ahead of time so they can sell the upper portions of the student section to the general public. They have done the same thing in the past. Things like this show just how pathetic Lsu's students have become.

Yeah, then why was there a line down the ramp and around the building for the Kentucky game last year? Half the students missed the first half because they were forced to line up and only be allowed to trickle in rather than just follow the normal process.

The Athletic Department has bungled the student experience in basketball repeatedly since 2010 even worse than they've bungled the hiring of basketball coaches.

The difference is that basketball doesn't engender the same kinds of loyalties among boosters and student groups that football does. People vote with their feet and react instantaneously.

Because it's Kentucky. How many students will be there vs Bama?

Likely plenty. Alabama will be a borderline ranked team in prime time on a Saturday Night after school is back in session. There will be tons of students there, they just won't be sitting down low behind the goal sharing an obstructed view on the island of misfit fans.

Saw same thing Saturday. Several skinny jean wearing douches holding several cousin Eddie hats walking away from the PMAC 30 min before tipoff. At least stay for the game assholes

Exactly, there were no hats by the time we got there. I go to the games to watch basketball so let the little pussies get their free hats.....but if I see a student walking to their dorm with a snow globe tomorrow night before tip I'm taking it from them.
