Having some issues with our 2010 chevy suburban - all lights flicker some (headlights, taillights, dash lights, interior lights, everything). When the car is started the brake light warning , check battery charging system warning and check suspension / stability track come on. I brought it to our regular mechanic, but, he could not find anything wrong with those components and thought it may be sending a false signal, he kinda of brushed it off and didn't think it was a big deal.

Anybody ever had these issues and aware of a fix?

And in the New Orleans/Metairie area, who would we take this too to fix?

Why not take it to the Chevy dealership?

A quick google search says VICM modual or crimped electrical cable from the battery

It sounds like a lack of current to that part of the electrical circuit.

Check the connection at all ground and power bolts. Sounds like a loose cable or possibly crimpled wire. My challenger did the same. Found it was a loose ground bolt.

shite that fricker is almost 8 years old. Get a new one already.

People retard me when they think it's a good idea to have a vehicle for more than 2+ years.

Check your ground straps. Sounds like one or more may be loose or corroded.

Find a new mechanic, someone that has a scanner, not just a code reader, but a scanner who can go in and actually look and see what is going on.

My guess is alternator, when those other systems aren't getting enough power they will put out a code which makes the warning lights come on, which someone with a scanner can check that for sure.

Vehicles from say 2005 on really draw a lot of power and are very finicky, That Suburban has at least 12 different computer modules in it, all needing correct power input to operate correctly.

GM is famous for those symptoms when the battery is getting weak or as noted above bad connections. Have the battery, connections and charging system checked first!

Getting hosed at the dealer is what I’m worried about. Anyone know a good mechanic in metairie/lakeview that could handle this ?

I'd at least go to autozone and let them check your battery and alternator.

Very well could be, that's why finding a reliable shop that can diagnose properly. If it's failing, their will be codes pointing towards that.
