For those of you who have and use an air fryer..... How do you like it? How long does it take to do fries? Battered veggies? What's the cleanup like?

I have one and I like it a lot. I mostly use it for mozzarella sticks and bacon, and the bacon comes out super crispy and perfect for a sandwich, but I don't like floppy bacon so that's just my opinion.
It's much quicker than using the oven or deep frying, and the clean-up is really easy...it's just a basket inside of a "well" of sorts. Machine-washable, I would assume.
It's pretty much a convection oven so you can't do any heavy or wet breading, but light flour and/or cornmeal based breadings do just fine.
I want to try fried pickles next.

I love mine. I use it almost daily...biscuits, fries, onion rings, pizza rolls, hot pockets , breakfast wraps , breaded chicken, tortillas (making chips), anything pre-breaded and frozen, etc...
Super quick, browns well and crispy when it should be.
I have wet battered chicken and it came out fantastic and does a nice job with naked wings.
Fried seafood is a massive failure , however, so stick to traditional methods. Although, I also have used it for thick cuts of various fish steaks ( no batter, only dry rub) and it comes out terrific.
I enjoy mine.
Cleanup is super easy. I wipe out the inside and machine wash the tray and basket.

Interesting. I hadn't heard that before. Why?

Use oil. As long as you aren’t deep frying three squares a day every day, it’s not going to hurt you and the flavor can’t be matched with air.
