Lightify has better colors(not sure how compared to gen 3 hue), but Hue has a lot better integrations with apps to make cool things happen.
Your lightify is undoubtedly loosing connection because of the crappy zigbee with those Tapts you have

both tapts are offline AGAIN. 
Eta they are controlling 2 sets of BR30s (4 total) on my front 2 porches and now I'm wondering if I should put a dumb switch and color hues in them or use 2 ge dimmers and regular bulbs.
Eta and we almost installed 4 gas lanterns last year where they are so given the whims of my SO I could be wasting time installing dimmer switches.
Maybe a good use case for those $20 BR30s in this thread?

I'm going to replace those switches with $2 switches.
