And here's the problem. Unfortunately, it seems Key has the same mentality as you. You play for personal pride, you play for your team and you play because LSU gave you a free ficking ride through college to play!

I realize it's risk/reward but ND's left tackle is a projected 1st rounder. If Key were to blow him up in the bowl game that could improve his stock. He could also get stonewalled or injured so I understand his dilemma...

Can't argue with any of this, other than to say everyone has different motivations. Not everyone has the same fire for the game that we like to see as fans. Some play football because they're really, really good at it and can earn a living from it eventually.

I know we think they should all play for the love of the game but I don't think that's reality. I know it's cliché at this point but this is a business too.

The irony is calling Key selfish because of your OWN selfish desires. You as a fan want to see Key play because it gives your team a better chance to win. But in doing so he should jeopardize an opportunity to earn more money just next season than many fans would make in a lifetime? For what? Just so YOU can be happy LSU won a bowl game?

No one would bat an eye if a third year Engineering major (on full academic scholarship) left school early because he was offered a job paying several million dollars. Why is this situation any different?

Its the nature of the beast now with the amount of money the NFL offers. With that much money on the line its changing priorities for these lesser bowl games.
