The South is the least racist part of the country because the white people in the South actually see real black people in their day to day lives and view them as actual human beings, the good and the bad.

Many parts of the rest of the country view black people as imaginary political pawns.

Growing up in the south, I was honestly shocked how racially segregated the west coast and major cities like Chicago, Boston, etc. are.

I could spend an entire day in Seattle and never see a black person. Plenty of Asians though.

The South doesn't have more racial difficulties because of racism. The South has more publicize racial difficulties because there are more opportunities for racial difficulties

My point was that all racial strife has occurred mostly above the Mason Dixon in recent years. The South has been relatively quiet.

What I do know as truth occurred while I was at Parris Island MCRD back in the late sixties. We had several recruits in my platoon that were blacks who had been drafted. We also had whites who were from the Northeast and Great Lakes area as well. I had never seen the animosity and hatred toward blacks from my fellow Southerners that I observed coming from these Northern boys. However, by the time we were deployed to Nam, most of that prejudice had disappeared when they realized that we all bled the same.

Without a doubt. As far as people I’ve met from other countries Eastern Europeans take the racist gold medal.

My girlfriend is from Lithuania. She does not have a racist bone in her body, but she used to use the N-word non-stop when referring to black people. Other people that overheard her might have assumed she is a racist, but she just did not know differently as that is how they all refer to black people there.
