Shouldn't happen.
Why not? Should you be granted more leniency than most when someone breaks into your house unarmed and you shoot them? Should you be granted more leniency if someone threatens you in any way and you decide you felt threatened/your life was in danger and shoot them? Are "stand your ground" laws bullshite?

What if it's a cop? Guess who gets the benefit?

If you had shot Mr shaver and claimed stand your ground, you'd do prison time

You just made that up....soo..
The entire court case was centered on if the officer followed correct procedure. The court ruled in his favor.
What part of this did I make up?

How many cops do you think are killed in a year? Is that what they are telling you in your union brochures?

Pretty easy to look up.
Also, not a cop.

That is one of the dumbest, fantasy based, imagined views of reality I've ever heard. You have no concept of the real world.

If they didn't announce themselves, you and your family. If they did, you get to sue the shite out of them.
Regardless, those also happen almost never wrongfully.

That’s total deaths, including traffic accidents and shoveling snow heart attacks on duty.
Feloniously killed is usually in the <50 range.

This isn't bad shoots.
It's total shoots.
SO just because the number isn't astronomically high, you are OK with cops literally executing people?
I meant what is your point here?
The number of people executed by cops should be ZERO. And to be clear, I'm not talking about justified shootings, and some of the ones that got a lot of negative national attention were defensible. But some, like the one that just got acquitted in Arizona, the guy in Minnesota and the Australian woman in Minnesota were not even close. All of those cops should be in jail.

Around 30-40 people a year are killed by police pointing air soft guns at them? Why are they pointing air soft guns at police, and how is someone supposed to know if it's a fake gun or not?

When cops kill people wrongly, they do not go to jail.
Thus the issue.

That's simply not true. Yes, they are granted more leniancy due to the nature of their job, but to say it doesn't occur is asinine. Regardless, most of these questionable cases could be argued one way or the other. Every murder of a police officer cannot be.
Sure their are outrageous cops committing crime cases. Sure cops can get away with them at a higher rate than a normal citizen can, but as you point out, outside of the movies and TV shows it is nowhere as bad as being made out.
In 99+% of cops killing a suspect, the suspect could have remained unharmed by not resisting arrest.

We are a nation of laws
And apparently, you think the cops are above those laws.

If you’re not going to read what I post, I’m not going to waste my time. I addressed this in a subsequent post.

If I kill someone who points a B.B. gun at me it’s going to be a lot harder to prove I “reasonably feared for my life” than it would be for a cop.
Not really, an incident about 6 years ago in BR where a man killed his daughter's unarmed ex boyfriend who was knocking loudly and yelling at the back door, because he feared for the life of his family. The man didn't even get indicted. Now imagine if he saw a BB gun he probably wouldn't even have gotten arrested.

For 2015, the data suggests that’s actually off by around 2+%. 3% of police shootings (where the person shot died) appeared to be people not resisting arrest.

Because all you do is continually ask questions. No one can answer them.

So to speak.

what proportion of people shot by cops are innocent?
Let's just go ahead and pretend that they are all guilty of some crime.
What level of crime warrants execution by cop? Public drunkeness or another small misdemeanor? a non violent felony? Guilty of being in your own home when the cops bust down the door at the wrong address?
Seriously, what level of crime warrants immediate execution by police? Especially when said cop has no obvious immediate threat to his own life?
