Well, that does it. We have the #1 class.
I hate pussy posts like yours.

Exactly, often the 'stars' assigned to these very young players don't mean JACK.

Hopefully his game clincher reminds Payton’s to run the ball
Hopefully, it may remind Peyton of the great young linebackers from LSU that he passed over, e.g. Alexander, Beckwith, Jones, Riley, Riley, Minter. And he’ll likely pass over D. White as well.
In the end, he’ll be remembered as the person who squandered the Saint’s chances with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL’s history- over more than a decade.

No one is saying 3 star players can't be elite players but most don't end up that way, there are some exceptions but I will continue to stick to the 4 and 5 star players
Peterson was a 5 star recruit, he came in and gave us immediate playing time as a freshman. Two amazing years as a lock down corner and return guy. Was a first round pick and an immediate starter in the NFL.
Not everyone that wants to see highly rated recruits is a 'star gazer'.

He was also one of the last (if not last?) to be offered .
These high school kids mature at different rates , some are fully mature in the 9th grade (physically), most later , and some much later . LF-7 might have been ready to hit the field @ LSU as a 9th grader .

Why don’t you google the percent of 5 stars that make the nfl. Then google the percent of 4 stars. Finally google the percent of 3 stars. You will realize stars matter. I’m not doing the leg work for you, but the likelihood of a 5 or 4 star reaching pro is significantly higher than 3 and below.

Debo was a three star talent when he arrived. He slowly developed into NFL material by his last year here. Debo is a real success story, but it took time. Devin W. was a 4-5 star and it showed from the time he arrived.
This is the best case scenario of how the rating system works.
3 star guys develops and becomes stud by senior year and becomes NFL player
4/5 star guy comes to college. Makes an impact as a freshman/soph. and usally leaves after jr year to become NFL player
This is how the star system is suppose to work. We all know that it is not an exact science though.
This is why people want all these 4 and 5 star guys

Are you fricking serious? We lost to Troy and we are more talented than them.
Here is your breakdown of where Alabama has finished in recruiting. 2008-1st, 2009 1st, 2010 5th, 2011 1st, 2012 1st, 2013 1st, 2014 1st, 2015 2nd, 2016 1st, and 2017 1st. In that time they have signed 40 5 star athletes. They have won 4 national championships and played for another. Plus they are in it again this year.
They have lost 12 games since 2009. We have lost 28.
Bottom line is sign the fricking 5 stars and win the fricking championship.
But hey we have more guys in the NFL right and that's all that matters.

He was skinny and deserved to be a 3 star. He gained weight and go better every year.

That I argued to the top of my lungs was a 5 Star talent. And I was laughed at by many on this board.
I saw Debo play one game in high school. I told my so that LSU better offer, because Debo was going to be in the NFL one day. I was never more certain of the NFL potential of a high school kid than I was of Debo (except Fournette).
It always surprised me that Debo did not have a bigger role at LSU before his last year. Each time they put him in a game he was destructive.
