Grimes has to do a better job of recruiting and retaining linemen or he needs to go.

Eliminating Miles from the equation was the key.
Personally, within the rhealm of OL only, I'm not sure of that... yet.

Don't have enough info yet to say Miles wasn't propping him up, or holding him back.

Right now I'm leaning towards Miles was propping Grimes up.

He might not have been propping him up spectacularly, but believe me the OL can get worse. I think how OL recruiting this year plays out will decide it for me. There is no doubt what we need to do. We are 1.5 cycles removed from Miles. He had 3.5 cycles with Miles. So we shall see.

I don't think Grimes is a bad recruiter, it's just the opposite for me as I think he is a good recruiter, I just think he's not a good coach. LSU OLineman are beaten like drums sometimes by opposing teams DLinemen, and their technique just looks awful at times with regards to hand placement and all. When they go up against Bama every season except maybe for this season because Bama was really bad this year by their standards, they are just soundly beaten and manhandled.

5 hours later, how are you leaning now?

Miles had his hands all over the OL. Grimes is doing work. The rotation worked itself out this year, the freshmen were coached up and the recruiting has picked up the last 1.5 cycles.
