Friday starts the most competitive Middle School Event in the Baton Rouge area.
Great to see a few CSAA teams step up/out of their levels of competition. All CSAA teams that enter this event should be ranked at the top of any CSAA rankings for their willingness to compete. This years 7th grade bracket is nice and should be a good gauge for rankings next year.

I was a part of organizing the very first one. Glad to see it has sustained and become a staple of the season for a lot of teams.

Updated Rankings 4th addition. Previous Ranking in Parenthesis:
1. Aloysius (3) - Have been able to show on the court why there were preseason #1. They have been racking up some double digit wins including one against St. Theresa. Only loss so far is to Episcopal (which is a non CSAA team.)
2. OLOM (1) - Moved down mainly due to Aloysius and not as much about their play.
3. CHS (4) - Haven't played much as of late, but did get another win vs St George Green. They keep beating top 10 teams.
4. STM (2) - Toughest team to rank this week. Won the St. George tournament and finished second in STM tournament, but lost to SJV and St. Jude.
5. SJV (5) - Impressive win over STM. Can beat anyone on any given night.
6. St. Theresa (6) - Looking like a tournament team.
7. St. Jude (7) - Continue to be the most improved team in the league. Still could move up some more.
8. St. Alphonsus (10) - Has a chance to take on CHS soon.
9. St. George Green (9) - Continue to lose the close ones.
10. Sacred Heart (8) - Suffered a loss to St. George White in STM tournament.

OLOM gets the nod as the best team over St Aloy. OLOM seeks out real basketball competition.

Answer this question: Would you consider Runnels (non-CSAA) a quality team?
Answer this question: which CSAA team within your rankings has beaten Runnels?

Who are the top 5 players in the league this year?
Posted on 2/7/18 at 4:51 pm to BearTiger
STM did not make the finals of their own tournament.
Posted on 2/8/18 at 7:07 am to BearTiger
STM finished 4th in their own tournament with 2 of their starters out with the flu and 2 reserves as well. The STM team that beat Aloysius by 12 is the healthiest STM been since the beginning of the season. They looked really good.
