I don't know anything about Dare Rosenthal other than his height at 6'7. Is he a possible switch from DT to OT?

I trust that the coaches will put him wherever they think is best. I do believe that they should consider the switch to OT though. He's got the size and athleticism there, but who knows?

Just a guess, but I think they finish with:

Surtain
Marshall
Watkins
Joseph
Traore
Joiner
Foster or Rogers, most likely Foster.
Beal
Cook, but I'm hesitant about this one.

I do think we sign over 25, most likely 27, so assuming we keep the 18 we already have, we can sign about 9 more. I would love to see Chase and Jason signed in this class too, but I think that bridge is already burned. Livingston will likely be apart of this class too. I really really want Cook though. This to me is the only name I mentioned that could choose elsewhere. This would be a great finish regardless.

I just don't see Beal TE in this class. Too many bigger fish IMO. If grades work out Pooka needs to be in this class, way too much talent and ways he can contribute not to have. I'd go with WR Marshall, Watkins then Athlete Pooka. DB's Joseph, Surtain maybe Cook then 1 QB. Not a knock but we really don't need NG Livingston in this class.

Not signing over 25.

quote:

Schools used to be able to take more than 25 signees in a class with the loophole being they could count early enrollees to the previous signing class.

According to a college coach we spoke to, that loophole is no longer in effect meaning there is a hard cap at no more than 25 signees in each given class, provided a school can sign that many prospects and not go over the NCAA mandated 85-person scholarship limit.

Under the old rule, LSU would be able to sign 27 players in the 2018 class. However, 25 is the number that Ed Orgeron and his staff must juggle.

I suppose the remaining question is how would the JUCO guys be counted. If they (Traore/Lewis) could be “backcounted,” then I suppose we would be at 27 by taking a full allotment of 25 HS signees.
