Its almost like FOX has a financial interest in the B1G

Same goes for CBS with Bama

Highest ranked Group of 5 champ too.

If you're gonna put 8 teams in then Central Florida should be one of them

I'd say only include this if that team is undefeated

But yeah, I'd love to see UCF get a shot. They're a fun team.

Told all y’all Wisconsin would be exposed vs. a unimpressive Ohio State.

They lost, but they had a chance to win it at the end and at least made it very interesting...unlike the other opponents in today's big games.

I’ve been a proponent for 6 teams for over a decade now. But the fact that we have a plethora of tools tonight arguing between a douche and a turd sandwich has me rethinking. The less assholes involved with selecting, the better. P5 champs, highest ranked Group of 5 champ, 2 at larges based solely on BCS-type ranking. Use that same formula for seeding. Top 4 seeds host the quarters.

I just don't see what the problem is with giving conference champs and automatic spot, and then having a few wild cards.

It's not a big deal when shitty 9-7 teams win a division in the NFL every once in a while. What's the difference here?

Sure, I get that people don't want conference champs getting auto-bids, because they think college football has the best playoff system that gives you the best chance of having the best team win the title. However, it's the only sport that does it in such a subjective way. We don't know what metrics the committee really values. We don't know how much the eye test comes into play. We don't know all of the biases that some of these guys might have.

Put all the conference champs in, throw in a couple wild cards. You'd have a really entertaining playoff where everything gets determined on the field. It really wouldn't devalue the regular season too much.

I was going to say... the two wild cards should be selected either according to a formula, or a more transparent way than it is now

Bingo

For all the faults of the BCS, at least we knew what went into it.

It just changes it. Less games mean EVERYTHING, but more games mean SOMETHING.

And you're still always playing for seeding.

If a team has already clinched their place in their conference championship game, it's not like they're going to rest guys or not care about their upcoming games.

Honestly, I think tonight’s pillow fight has to bring USC back somewhat in the discussion.

I kinda miss the BCS. We should be getting ready for a Clemson Oklahoma final. They are clearly the 2 best—and most deserving—teams.

how is 538 still in the business of doing these predictions?

After OSU wins. they have Auburn at 11% to get in and Wisconsin at 2%. Those teams should both be at 0.

Should be OSU/Bama/USC for the last spot, and let the chips fall where they may.

Bama's resume got much worse today, with Auburn and Fresno losing
