Trick question. No such coach exists.
Seriously, 6.5m should turn a few heads.

That's a nice raise for Luke

Looks media morons already campaigning for Luke

I wouldn't touch OM until I knew what the sanctions were.

Ole Miss has more money than Florida? Interesting

Luke not even getting half that

I would have to have a yuge buyout

That’s a given, but I imagine a potential candidate would have concerns beyond the penalties. Ole Miss has lied to their fans, the media, and recruits throughout this whole process.
Any coach worth anywhere near $6.5M is going to have serious concerns about the deep seeded problems surrounding their football program.

Not to mention the only time they have been a threat is when they cheated.
Why is this taking the NCAA so long? Honestly curious.

I really think in the end they’ll be better served giving Luke a cheapo deal, seeing what the penalties are and reassessing next year with all the other SEC openings and uncertainty. Have to see what is out there though

Ole Miss is not paying 6.5 million for a head coach. You are dreaming.

Just a helpful tip if they do hire Luke: Don’t give him a 5-year buyout.

That’s former HS Girls Basketball Coach type money!

Freeze was making over 5 million. It is just the way college football is evolving.

I think his point was that no coach that can command that type of money is taking the Ole Miss job

Ole Miss was paying Freeze ~$5M/year.
Ole Miss doesn't owe anyone buyout money.
Sanctions will probably be known sometime this week.

I don't know about 6.5 but I think Ole Miss would go over 5.5 million for Willie Taggart.

Supposedly Taggart, Norvell, Mike Bobo, Strong, and Jay Hopson aren't on the board for OM

Well I would, but I'm not trying to make a career out of it. By the time they find out I'm not a coach, I will have a years salary and buyout to live on.
