Many years ago, a girlfriend and I made a post-Thanksgiving turkey-carcass stock gumbo.

We both had ideas and kept adding stuff to it. It had a ridiculously expensive amount of crab, oysters, shrimp, etc in it before we were done,

I ate it in and kept my mouth shut, but it was one of the worst gumbos I ever had. Not sure where it went off the rails, but I think it was a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. Either of us, alone, would have done fine, but together it was awful.

The relationship also turned out shitty. We had some fun, but it ended up as terrible as that gumbo.

Smoking a turkey in a brinkman charcoal smoker. Cold front came through, and it was in the 20's when I woke up thanksgiving morning to smoke it. That bird didn't get smoked that year.
