But he’s still a game manager, right?
26/42 for 258. 2 TDs and 1 INT. 3 sacks for -30 yards.
7 rushes for 86 yards and 1 TD
He was 95.56% of the offense.

It's possible to be a game manager early in your career and develop into a game changer. He was super efficient early in his career but limited in his attempts, hence the game manager tag. Now he has no OL, no running game, and is 85% of the offensive yards for the season and is still successful.

Agreed. I called him a game manager early, but he’s changed my mind big time.

Seattle has only 1 first round pick since 2012 (Ifedi A&M OT 2016). Can anyone explain why? Just looked it up and thought it explains a lot

Insert team here got so many total yards, insert quarter back here accounted for a high percentage. Not that special imho.

He accounts for the highest percentage of his team’s total yards (86%) of any QB in the league. It’s special because he has zero help.

OP is actually off according to ESPNs game stats. He accounted for 344 of those yards (258 passing, 86 rushing)
Which comes out to 96 percent of their offense.

I believe they said it was the 3rd highest % in NFL history this season.

Russell Wilson is nasty. He's not prime Mike Vick back there, but he does some things in terms of escaping that remind you of him.
Wilson is at the top of the league right now.

Percy Harvin and Jimmy Graham trades I think. They they've typically been right at the bottom of the 1st round and like trading down which caused them to fall out of the 1st. BTW, Ifedi is absolutely terrible.

Sorry about that. Seems like Jake Matthews is the only decent Aggie OL out of that Mike Sherman group

He's always been asked to do a lot. Game managers are asked to do as little as possible.

I’m wrong, but I’m only off by 4. He was sacked 3 times for 30 yards which comes out of passing yards to be 228. I had him at 224 which was the team passing yards which included the fake FG

I don't think the NFL subtracts sack yardage in their official stats.
Posted on 11/20/17 at 11:46 pm to wildtigercat93
You’re right, they count against team passing yards, but not individual. Which is stupid.

Yeah that's a weird way to count the stats either way it's crazy impressive

Yea I was subtracting from his passing total
Was crazy is that it should’ve been way more than 3 sacks. That’s just the only 3 he couldn’t get away from like he did like 5 or 6 other times. He had 7 rushes and the only one I remember that wasn’t escaping a sack was the TD. It was a rollout and he had a lane so he tucked and ran.

One thing that he did really well early in his career was convert 3rd downs. That's when a lot of game managers are exposed.
To be fair, it wasn't uncommon for Seattle to run Lynch on 1st & 2nd down, Wilson would scramble for a first down on 3rd & short. He wasn't continually being put into 3rd & long situations.
However, his ability to convert 3rd downs allowed Seattle to run their normal offense. They would stick to the running game even when it wasn't being productive because they weren't trying to keep him out of 3rd & long because he was good at converting those also. They also trusted him early to take deep shots down field.
