Without a doubt, one of the best trips I have been on. From the moment we got to Knoxville, everyone was as nice as could be. Ran into a bunch of Tiger fans in Market Square on Friday and got ready for Gameday on Saturday. Their tailgating is impressive, but not as unbelievable as at LSU. The Vol Walk is neat and they have plenty of people to watch them come in. The only bad thing was the TSUNAMI that hit in the 3rd quarter......I have never seen anything like it my life and have ridden through several hurricanes.....all in all, the fans were great, we had a great time and came home with a W..... :nana:

Agreed. The Tenn fans were pretty gracious. Almost all I talked to think they are getting Gruden. Considering their record and the weather conditions they showed up and cheered into the 4th Qtr which was refreshing.

We stopped to admire a tailgate that had dual pianos and boiled shrimp. They invited us in and it was the greatest day of my life.

Best away game trip I've attended thus far.

They have a really nice downtown for a city of their size. I liked the Market Square area, in particular. And the Cumberland strip was pretty happening too.

I'd like to catch a game there when Tennessee is more relevant and the weather is better. Although it was pretty nice scoring 5th row seats for $25 outside the stadium.

MY first trip to Neyland. It was awesome. Agree that the UT fans were very welcoming. Great scene around the stadium. Sweet P's was awesome BBQ. Jacob Hester and his brother-in-law were in the Market Square. He was gracious to shake hands and talk for a sec. Seating was not nearly as bad as everyone painted it out to be. View from the upper deck (EE) was very good.

That storm was WICKED.

I had an awesome time. Weather included. I can't think of a cooler location to pre game than Calhoun's. What else can u ask for beyond a deck over a river that's 2 blocks from the stadium? Everyone was welcoming and hospitable. Neyland is a cathedral. I can only imagine the crowd noise at capacity. Definite return trip when we play them there again in 27 years.

Yeah Calhoun’s was all tigers after the game. Was sitting at the bar after the game and someone ordered a crown and sprite. Bartender stated “we are out of crown, jack and barely have any well whiskey left. Y’all literally came yesterday and today and drank us dry.”

Had a great 4 day trip. Not once did anyone talk crap to me. Everyone was nice. Even had a gentleman walk by me and another LSU fan close t9 me, and he patted us on the shoulder and said, welcome. Enjoyed pigeon and gatl area. Weather was great walking both ways, and didn't get wet sighting under the overhang.
And yes, Cumberland was a crazy street . looked like everyone was having fun

i overheard the bartenders talking about lsu fans draining the place too. they were saying it was the most any team had put away. they said georgia came close. and there weren't nearly as many lsu fans in that place as there were in '06 and '12.

Uber driver we used to go to the game last night said he made more money Friday night because of LSU fans. The one that took us home said the LSU fans were great! It was great to see all the fans here for the game

Fans of opposing teams are always nice when their team sucks I learned. When they’re doing well things can change

This. I guess no one here went to Knoxville for the 2001 game, back when UT was good. Way different fan experience.

We had a blast also. Their fanbase was definitely too beaten down to really expect a win so they were more than gracious. Had a great time on the Cumberland St area and playing some local golf. Sat with my dad laughing our asses off about how crazy that wind/rain was to start the 2nd half. Great experience.

Agree completely...Tennessee is one of my favorite away trips. Wish we played there a little more frequently. The fans have always been very nice to me, but I understand that they are quite a bit more spirited when they are winning.

And yes, that storm was pretty much the craziest shite I have seen while in a football stadium. I saw a couple of people literally get blown off their feet due to the wind.

ETA: and yes, there were more tiger fans in attendance than I have seen at any other away game. they were at every rest stop and gas station that I went into between MS and Knoxville...I was very proud of the tiger faithful.
