I'm a dad. I said the same advice.
It's not his daughter. It's not even his adopted daughter. It's the daughter of some skank he banged.
OP is also an actual dad. He has a biological son that he has custody of.
His feelings and life are irrelevant. He needs to do what's right for his son. And that to cut this crazy bitch and her bastard love child out of his life.
He has a son. From a previous marriage.
And his decision as a single father was to begin dating and move in with an already pregnant woman who was already pregnant by another man when they met. Roll that situation around in your head. What the hell kind of things is he teaching his son?
Go back to being a single dad and focus your life on your son.

Has he said how old the son is? I'm wondering if the son thinks of the little girl as a sister and how losing her may work?

I did a brief google search on the law and I think it's too late for him. He signed an Affidavit acknowledging his own paternity when the child was born. Under La. law that's the only way for you to sign the birth certificate. Now that the child is a few years old it's too late for him to contest paternity. He is the legal obligor that the La. Dept of Child Support Enforcement will go after for child support, no matter whether Mom lives with him or not.
