Love the idea of a bat house, would be a fun project to build one. My only hesitation with chemicals is my toddler running around who is still quite the explorer. Mosquito barrier may be the ticket.

One of the main reasons I started using a service. Spent a weekend putting together a playset for my kids a few summers ago. I wanted them to be able to enjoy my investment and time building it without being carried off by the mutant mosquitos we have here. The company just told me to leave any pets inside while they were spraying, but after about 30 minutes we would be fine to let kids or animals outside. They mostly sprayed the bushes and tree limbs and fogged.
