Mosquito Control in my Yard

We recently moved south to a suburb in Georgia. We have a lovely back yard that abuts a creek. As a result this summer we were like a convention center for mosquitoes.
My wife is looking for things to get me for Christmas and I would like to suggest something practical. Are there any products/things out there that I can use to keep the buggers off of my patio or the children's play area? Would be curious if the Outdoor Board can provide advice or if I just need to stock up on Off with some serious DEET in it.
Thanks!

Build a bat house. There are plenty of plans available on the internet.
To answer your question
Table Saw to build said bay house. Practicality abounds because tools transfer to building other projects.

We had a company come out and spray every three weeks. Backpack sprayers and foggers. You could look into some of those and the chemicals used. We get a neighborhood group rate and it is like 7-8 times a summer so I just pay it and not worry about it. 3 years now and we barely see any.

Mosquitobarrier.com. It works. Spray every three to four weeks.

I use Bifen XTS once a month. Kills Ants, spiders, sod worms, roaches, everything. I used to have a big mosquito problem, but they're gone now.
ETA: I put up a bat house as directed, but I haven't attracted one in over a year.
