I have always thought teams should go for it much more than they already do.

If you are above at least your own 35 yardline. And it is 4th and 4 or less. You should be going for it every single time. It kills me when I see a team have great momentum on their drive. Only to come to 4th and 3 on like the 50. Then the team elects to punt. I believe all it would take is 1 coach who has the tenure and pull with the athletic department, to give this a shot.

I wouldn't mind seeing teams go for 2 more often as well. More teams should do surprising onside kicks as well. They can be a HUGE game changer. Even if there is a 33% chance of recovering the ball. Those odds definitely make the risk worth it.

I think it was Mississippi St this weekend, opening drive, still 9 minutes left in the 1st freaking quarter. 4th and 2 from the opponent's 36 yardline, they intentionally take a delay then punt.

Absolutely mindbottling.
