Huge game for the Wave tonight, after a tough loss to Tulsa. The RPI dropped like 50 spots after that game.
Hopefully they can keep it respectable.
Awesome to see UNO start conference off fast. Coach Sless is just awesome.

No doubt about UNO. Wasn't sure what to think with their non-conference record, although I know they played some pretty good teams. Off to a real good start in SLC play.

OH MY GOD
I literally got in a screaming match with Tim J SMU's coach. I yelled "LARRY BROWN WOULD'NT HAVE LOST THIS GAME."
I am so hype. About to drink with Coach Mike @ Bruno's
Best team in Louisiana

Good night overall as teams in action went 3-1.
Tulane got a huge win last night over SMU winning 73-70. Cameron Reynolds led the Wave with 20 points in the victory. Tulane improves to 11-4 on the season and 2-1 in AAC play.
Louisiana Tech lost a tough one at home against UTSA by a score of 76-78. Jacobi Boykins had 24 for the Bulldogs in the loss. Louisiana Tech drops to 9-7 and 0-3 in CUSA.
ULL cruised past Appalachian State 78-45. Frank Bartley led the Cajuns with 16 points while Bryce Washington contributed 15 points & 10 rebounds. The Cajuns are now 13-3 this season and 3-0 in SBC play.
ULM beat Coastal Carolina 82-72. The Warhawks got a big night from Sam McDaniel who scored 28 points in the win. ULM is now 7-7 this year and 1-2 in conference play.
No games tonight.
Records updated in OP.

Idk who else would be considered, but I would think if Tulane can get to 20 wins that Dunleavy would be in the running for national coach of the year

Hard to argue against their resume so far. Besides GA State, they don't have any bad losses. That loss is a wtf, but everything else is impressive.

Absolutely.
What's the biggest difference between this year and last?

Jamie Dixon
Bobby Hurley
Tulane recruited pretty well in Conroy's last 2 years (when he finally got rid of his all-Citadel staff). The difference is year 2 under competent coaching plus some additional personnel. The improvement began in February last season - played much, much better then than they had in the first 2 months.

UNO won again at McNeese in overtime.
The Privateers are off to a surprising 4-0 start in conference, the same record they started with a year ago in the Southland.
The Southland is stronger at the very top than it was a year ago, mainly because SFA was down last year. But overall, I think the conference is worse. Teams like A&M-CC and Houston Baptist are worse, while Northwestern State is one of the worst teams in America.
Southeastern has been impressive record-wise, but honestly, they were a very capable team last season. Just played inconsistent at times, for whatever reason. They did start conference play with a huge win against SFA.
Nicholls will be near the top of the Southland, as well. Could see three Louisiana teams near the top of the Southland standings at year's end.
Huge game for UNO next @ SFA.

Doubt LSU finishes better than 9-9 in conference.
Bobby Hurley would be the leader, as of now. However, they've started 0-2 in conference play. Will be interesting to see where they finish in the Pac 12.

Regardless, LSU is about 50 spots higher than Tulane in both KenPom and Sagarin. They'd be favored on a neutral court.
And, no, Dunleavy won't get coach of the year for getting Tulane to the NIT, even if it is impressive this fast. Hurley and Beard have to be the frontrunners right now. Jay Wright has never won it and could this year. Brownell, Dixon, and Pearl could be dark horses.

I think 10-8 is what they'll be shooting for.

Tulane beat LSU by 10 in a scrimmage about a week before the season started. LSU would be favored because of their name and conference, but I don't think they're much better of a team, if at all.

Played about 15 minutes IIRC. Don't think he scored. Got in some foul trouble, too.
