Yes, I bring iodine tablets since I spend the whole day in the woods and there is usually water around. Guess I didn't let it go long enough or soemthing

Just a FYI that iodine tablets may not remove all the giardia, it’s a tough sob to treat.

Why would you take the chance of drinking ground water when a couple liters of bottled water cost about a buck? And then to find a tree covered in poison ivy and say "frick it" and not only climb it but sit in it all day? You don't like yourself very much, do you?
