LSU needs to develop a mobile quarterback that isn't afraid to run through the tackles when necessary. If Lowell Narcisse is a competent passer I would move forward with him in the Spring vs Brennan. There were so many times Saturday where we had the Ala. defense stretched and could have gashed them for huge yards if Etling was able to run.

We can't solely rely on the jet sweep because Ala. wasn't shifting the 8-man box to defend it, instead, Ala. just brought down the safety. We need the jet sweep option along with the standard QB/RB RPO option. This way we can stretch the box and gash them up the middle or throw it over the top. Ohio State with Cardel Jones was great at doing this.

It's already been made pretty clear you need a dual-threat QB to win a NC. The days of a pro-style, white QB are gone.

There have definitely been a long string of QBs who fit the "dual threat" description who went on to win an NC but I don't know if I'd go that far.

Was DeShaun Watson considered a DT? The guy still threw for a lot of yards and TD's, and that' pretty important IMO.

And who thought the jet sweep was going to fool Alabama at all? If our coaching staff did (3 straight plays at one point), God help them.

Our offense outside of Etling/Chark was fine. We need a QB.

Yes Watson is Dual Threat. Being Dual Threat doesn’t mean you have to run all the time, it gives the dynamic that other teams have to respect though, that if everything is covered or if everyone drops out into coverage, the Dual Threat can burn you. Most Dual threats that are good passers, are pass first QBs.

LSU didn't truly utilized the jet sweep in that game. When you run the jet sweep and the safety come down to the line of scrimmage to defend it, it creates a 1 on 1 on the outside. Or you can send the sweeper on wheel route since he already has running momentum on the safety. LSU didn't properly utilize the jet sweep yesterday. That's on Canada.

Ah...so nothing recent. Unless it have a stacked team like Bama, you need a dual threat to win

Mauck, Flynn and defitnely Tebow could all run. The Bama QBs were built around superiors defenses.

This is how you run an effective jet sweep with 4 options. Sweeper Option, RB option, QB Run Option, QB Pass Option. The one time we did gash them Darrel Williams was in the wildcat with a sweeper.
