I’d go with a GE
Sorry to disagree but my GE Profile washer shook itself apart. Then I got an analog Speed Queen. Totally satisfied

Do not ever buy a Whirlpool Cabrio. My only advice.

I would buy the least efficient, least water conserving thing I can find with the most mechanical (not electronic) parts. Not even joking.

Seriously. I go buy the cheapest washer and dryer at Lowe’s. Usually $300-$400 a piece.

I also have Speed Queens. I bought the top load washer and front load dryer with the electronic controls (as opposed to the dials). Haven't had them for that long, but they came highly recommended from people whose opinions re: appliances I trust completely. My only complaint is the bin in the washer isn't "really" big enough to wash a king sized comforter. It can do it, but it takes a couple dry cycles to get it dry.
I spent the money on them in hopes that I would get years of use out of them without issue. There's nothing fancy looking about them...just plain old white washer and dryer. So if you (or your SO) care about that, then you may not like them. I couldn't care less how my washer and dryer look.

I bought a fridgeaire front load washer and dryer back in 2008. Still going strong. Had to replace a door hinge on washer, but that was my fault it broke. Paid $1600 for the paid brand new back then.

Paid $1600
You can get Speed Queens today for about this; I paid $1800 for a SQ washer & dryer 3 months ago

Mine were a little more than $1600 together. Got them from Brandon's Appliances in Amite.
