Co-op and the motion controls with the hat? Bit things that I've seen brought up a LOT.

REALLY want to play this.

Hate this so damn much. I'm going to eventually pick it up again, but this shite is so dumb.

good point

Co-op
it's like a tacked on multiplayer to a single player experience. if you think uncharted sucks, you wouldn't list the multiplayer as the reason why

I get why it bothers people, but it forces me out of my very set patterns of behavior and have to try new things. it makes the castaway segment of the game even more challenging...that has to be my favorite part of any game in a long, long time.

I actually really liked the weapon durability. I enjoyed going and stocking up on certain weapon types for certain areas.

I like how Nintendo can get so much out of three buttons, but yeah it's a flaw. not one that bothers me because of it's only essential for like 3/900 moons.

I should also mention the 3/120 shrines in Zelda that forces motion controls...motion controls that don't work well in any configuration. though I don't know if I can ever play a shooter or shoot a bow and arrow without motion controls. two sticks just seems archaic now

the one downside for me is that i'm a hoarder so when I get cool shite, I don't want to let it go. there are too many korok seeds, it could be way easier and it would still be a challenge to increase inventory slots

I do like that it forces the player to make choices.

yeah, I just love tilting the controller for bow and arrow aim and in splatoon. don't know what the consensus is on that or if there is one, but I love it. I think you can do that in the last of us when ellie gets the bow, but can't remember.

eta: you still use the stick but shorter vertical and horizontal movements using tilt...I just love it.

I understand the concept, but a) Zelda games, for me, were about those special weapons, not throwaway garbage, and b) I think if they made the durability a little higher, it wouldn't have been so infuriating. Inventory management wasn't my favorite, and constantly discarding twigs because I found a metal whatever and needed space, only to have that metal whatever last 3 monsters made me rage.

there is the one indestructible weapon...the master sword, and I know you can break the hylian shield, but despite a pretty solid effort I couldn't.

maybe the ultimate weapons from the guardians should have had the same limited magic setup as the master sword. on one hand that defeats the purpose of why they implemented the durability system, but on the other hand, it does suck breaking something that is supposed to be special and makes that item...less special.

Breath of the Wild is a 10

Mario Odyssey is a 9.99

Breathe of the Wild simply for the engaging factor for me. There was so much content jam packed in and so many details that I never wanted to really multi-task while playing.

Odyssey is a great game, but it's not like there's a real in depth story you need to pay attention to. Save Peach from Bowser and beat these bosses along the way.

Also, this is a giant pain when trying to play handheld. They have to patch this to make it optional at some point. Unless I just haven't looked hard enough for the setting to adjust it.

Odyessy is great, it's unreal how FUN it is to play.

But BoTW is in a whole different league. It could be the best Nintendo game, and maybe game, ever crafted.

I had this crazy emotion playing BoTW that is hard to describe. Closest thing to it was Mario 64 for the first time or OoT.

Odyessy is great and every bit of the update Mario needed. But BoTW just has so much open space and it never pushes you in any direction, and it's just a masterpiece.

The weapon durability was annoying to me at first, but I then enjoyed it bc it made me use weapons I prob wouldn't have before and that was 100% by design.

Odyssey for me, just not a huge fan of the limited dungeons and open world in BOTW. After the first 20 hours or so the shine started to wear off and it felt really repetitive. Odyssey IMO is just more fun to play.

Did you do any of the side quests? I probably spent more than half of my 100+ hours on that alone.

Same here. It’s a short list of games especially 3d ones that did it for me. I would also include Metroid prime

Very much, I'll add FF7 to it because I played it at the right time on release as a teenager, and MGS1 as well. Just something special in the code for all those games. MP for sure as well.

I put 190 hours into BoTW, and I could go back for more after the second DLC releases. Def won't put that into many games if any.

Both games are great and if they were the only two games I ever got for the console it was worth it to get the Switch
