We are in a very nice spot for Kelvin Joseph

Coach O and his staff must sign Kelvin Joseph. Once his staff begins signing the top players from Louisiana, it will send a message to future Louisiana prospects as well as out-of-state recruits. One player does not win championships, but one player can set a send a message to other players. If the Louisiana recruits who went to Bama over LSU had chosen LSU instead, I doubt very seriously LSU would have lost 6 straight games in this rivalry. There's no doubt in my mind if Orgeron and his staff get the best players from Louisiana every year, LSU will be competing for NC's. Kelvin Joseph can be the recruit that changes the tide and LSU gets all the top players from Louisiana.

Looking at those and his previous highlights I have no idea how he's not the best CB or DB prospect in the country. His instincts are second to none, his vision, closing speed, tackling ability, as well as his hands are all very good. He's also physical which isn't a given for DBs. He's got it all and I'm gonna go ahead and say his instincts are HBer like, very much so.

When you think about the DB talent we couls potentially sign from last years and this years class it's pretty mind blowing
CB-Pat Surtain Jr
NB-Kary Vincent Jr
S-Grant Delpit
S-Jacoby Stevens/Kelvin Joseph
CB-Anthony Cook
How nasty is that? All flights cancelled for the next 3-4 years haha

It's going to be an uphill battle, but one of the biggest gets will be 2019 and if O and co. can sign Sopsher. Not only because he is the top DT, but because he's from a part of the state where Nicky has been firmly established. Win that one and O will really have a nice victory.

Yes we would have. Landon Collins and Cam Robinson were impactful players. Tim Williams was also impactful, but only for one year. and we had Arden Key at his position. Other than those guys the Louisinana signees have been journeymen. Nothing special. And we mitigate that by signing Kwon Alexander and Neil Farrell out of Bama.
If those guys had signed with LSU it would have done nothing to improve our line play except for one OT for a couple of years. And Bama would have signed another good player to take their place.

Joseph and Surtain Jr. would be such a sick CB haul. Keep DBU on lock for at least another 3 years.

So those that follow/know such things...
Is Kelvin Joseph waiting to see what Cook does?
Additionally, but related, was increased interest in LSU by Cook why Joseph decommitted?

Joseph is a safety and Cook is a corner. I don't think Kelvin's recruitment has any correlation to Cook's.

Different positions, one has no effect on the other.
Many feel Joseph is just enjoying the process and LSU is still the team to beat. His best friend is Smart, and I think also plays a role for us.

Well the 247 tweet calls him a CB too so you're not the only one confused.

He’s ranked as a CB but LSU likes him roaming the middle the of the field
And laying people out.

1. is being recruited by LSU as a S, while other schools are recruiting him as CB?
2. What does he want to play? I'd say the "business decision" would be S with cover skills.
I definitely like him at S over CB based on frame only (don't know that much else about him).

A safety that can play CB in the nickel is uber valuable.

IMO he's a safety at LSU, kid is a headbuster and is not timid to lay the wood.

K. Joseph and N. Joseph from Florida where/are being recruited as both cb and safeties.
LSU also views T. Campbell in the combo role but Campbell wants to stay at corner and that is part of why we lost a little traction with Campbell.
LSU is still trying to get 2 cb and 1 safety to go with A. Washington.
Surtain at one cb
K. Joseph at the safety is what Corey is hoping for.
Then the last spot is between Cook, N. Joseph, J. Green and T. Campbell.
