I switched to the high shoulder shot last season. Both deer I shot fell in their tracks. This guy has another video using the behind the shoulder shot and every single one runs off before dieing.

high shoulder shot is my go-to also. little low and you probably hit heart and will hit lungs. a little high and you clip the spine.
