If you are good you can use Lineman's pliers and just use light pressure while turning the pliers in a circle around the wire.
You can use wire strippers if you aren't good enough with lineman's pliers.

I use Dykes most of the time, then I got a set of needle nose with 8 wire stripper holes, I use that a lot. I usually have to strip 16 ga or smaller.
