Why would a bad hurricane in Houston or Florida effect the local Green bay market watching a green bay game?
I would guess it wouldn't so in GB other factors would be the reason. In Houston, Miami, TB, Jaxville the hurricanes probably impacted the ratings There can be multiple factors

I’ll spin it, I don’t follow the nfl much because after 12 hours of football on Saturday I need to do something different

with the exception of Monday night foozball, the NFL is on network television. the national games are streamed on amazon and nbcsports
doesn't hold water. espn can use that excuse but not fox, cbs and nbc.

Everything about the NFL sucks. It's amazing how quickly they've ruined professional football.
Peak NFL was probably 2004-2010...I mean most everyone was watching...had become huge again overseas, girls went out to bars too for MNF.
It's amazing how it went from must-see TV to such a shite product.

I think for most people it's these low IQ black players making 10 million dollars a year comparing themselves to modern day slaves
I think that's a fundamental misunderstanding of what they are protesting. If you actually listened to them you'd know it was about protesting on behalf of those who don't have that platform. You're free to still disagree with their ultimate point and that's fine, but at least try to listen and understand what they are actually saying vs what they arent.

it's definitive proof that the NFL is not a victim of circumstances such as bad matchups, teams with nothing to play for, hurricanes, elections, etc.
all that shite predates 2016 anyway.

OK, so then, what is it? You tell us.

And I listed some, player protests, CTE, cord cutting...
I still don't get the point of asking? Who cares? What do you guys think it means? Ratings are down, bad they can't literally increase forever. It's not like the league will go out of business in a year or 2 if this keeps up. It doesn't even mean they will have to have massive cut backs. MLB ratings are no where near what they were 30 years ago . The freaking LCS are on TBS and FS1 and they claim record profits. Godell is a douche, no argument there, they/he have made some mistakes lately, ok, but big congrats i guess to the OP for being "right"

Yeah, everyone was in a league...it was crazy...everyone talked about their fantasy team at work...girls were in leagues. It was like the NFL was a part of daily life and not just a sport. Like that TV show The League.
But after 2010 you started to see people sort say...uhm, I'm kinda not that interested in this fantasy thing anymore.

Then why do you care about the NFLs ratings?
Posted on 10/19/17 at 2:10 pm to Yak
It’s not cord cutting
It’s a lot of things, but the prevalent thing posted on this board all year is that there’s no decline in interest and the ratings are impacted by several external one time events and luck of the draw with teams on national broadcasts
The local ratings puts that to bed

They also act like letting players kneel in what some deem as a disrespectful act to our military (whether right or wrong) is fine, while letting a team honor fallen police officers murdered in their city in cold blood is not.
That is where the NFL is losing people in all honesty. It's the double standards and how they are pandering to players that don't even know what the hell they are protesting at this point.

From the horses mouth this is actually what they are protesting
quote:
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder"
