DIY red or green feeder lights for pigs

Have any of y'all constructed some sort of motion sensing setup for night shooting some pigs with your regular scope? Feeders are about 100 yards away...asking for a friend. I know they have kill lights and whatnot but I'd like something more on low budget side. LED floods, solar charging possibly? Something he can leave out so they get used to it. TIA

Wildgame Innovation makes one for maybe $30. It's solar powered and is motion activated.

Is that the one that hangs under the feeder? I thought I saw one but it looked like it was more like $115?

What's his price range? I wouldn't go too cheap on predator lights. A good Wicked Lights flood light is $260. I have never used one. If that's more have you looked into to just getting the mounted lights? If your only shooting 100 yards the wicked lights A48 is a great lightweight light. $140 and the kit comes with mount and an intensity corded control. Pigs typically look down and aren't affected as much by light as say a coyote. I've used cheap lights and there is a big difference if you spend a little more money. Same will probably be said for the Flood LED's if that's the route he wants to go.

Dont really know a budget...id like to keep it cheep otherwise id just tell him to get a ATN X-sight like I have for $500 for himself. What id like to do is be able to rig up his 3 or 4 stands with something on the feeders so anyone can hunt them rather than having gun mounted lights that you have to take on and off to rig up on others.
EDIT: That Ambush A1 looks nice on there site...wish it was 1/2 the cost tho

I bought some green ones off Amazon. They look like a trail cam and operate on D batteries. Seem to work fine. I think I paid around $50 a piece.

Found these...anyone have experience with this? I like the idea of it having a battery pack that just keeps getting recharged so it runs every night and the pigs get used to it and he doesn't have to change batteries all the time.

Like I said, I only have experience with flashlights. Cheaper ones off of amazon put off very little light. Try that one though. Especially if you could get it form a place that has a good return policy like Amazon. How's that ATN holding up? Weren't you the one that did the thread on it? Curious how its holding up.

So yall are killing pigs with these things, I need another plan besides my 8 year old shooting them a couple times a year.

Yeah, but you can't hunt at night in Louisiana until after Deer season. They were talking about changing that.

Buy one of these solar motion lights on ebay for $29 then buy red or green tint and tint the inside of the glass. This is what I did and it works great!
Thats more in line with what im thinking. The other $30 one seemed to mount on the feeder and point down. I wanted something more like this that would hit the feeder and some area around/behind it to see incoming. Cheep enough to try out.

That was me...I have only used it the one hunt but as you saw from the vid it worked like a charm. I am about to rig it up on my POF Revolution (was on the SIG716). Once I get it running I am going to try it out some more at this guys place hopefully soon.

What about in Mississippi...that is where my friends camp is. Looks like you can hunt at night from oct 1st to sometime in feb?

Post back on your old thread if you don't mind after a few more uses. I'm eyeing one but want to get a review of someones extended use.

Will do. So far its batting 100...first hunting trip with it, First time seeing pigs, First shot taken at pigs, First kill of a pig. So far the only negative was I lost the accordion eye piece. I had the rifle on my back and went through some trees and shrubs and it must have popped off. Not sure I would blame that on ATN tho not sure what hit it...but I dont recall it being very "hard" to get it off. Haven't tried calling to get a replacement but will.

Do you have any issues spooking them when this light comes on instantly? Had to leave it out there for a while for them to get used it it?

I seemed to remember it being pretty open there, thanks for confirmation.

I've got the motion activated lights by my carport that uses the solar recharging batteries. It puts off enough light to see and was thinking of running them around feed piles/ feeders after deer season for this reason. They were very cheap and have lasted really well. The switch that turns it off after a few seconds has gone out on one though so once it comes on it just runs until it's dead. Which is actually a lot longer than you'd think, runs for hours before batteries are dead. It's two or three years old though.
