The coach Alleva didn't even bother trying to bid more than once for has the #2 recruiting class and a true freshman QB who just threw for 380 and ran for 109 last week.

He's lighting up the recruiting trail.
Texas will be a top 5 program again in no time with Herman.

It's time to let it go, friend.

Pretty soon Alleva will want to run LSU's recruiting. I really do hate that guy.
And Herman will turn it around here in Austin and will compete for titles. Will shut up the O crowd that run around like hyenas taking shots at Herman every chance they Get

I don’t want O as the coach either, but Herman was never going to come to LSU with Texas open or near open.

that's possible, but Alleva didn't even try beyond the initial offer. He could have sold LSU to Herman a lot harder than he did and at least made him think about it.

I'd rejoice if they gave the job to Verge......you can bet your arse football would go in the right direction.

Good Stuff. I got my MBA from UT Business school. Turning it around. 2nd favorite team.

i was in Austin and Ubered to DKR from the bar as soon as the LSU game was over. They already look a good bit better than what i saw when I lived there in 2012-2014.

If the BOS doesn't make a move after this year on Alleva, LSU will frick around and become a bottom tier team in the SEC.

Instead, he took offense to Herman counter-offering, and hours later offered the job to our DL coach like a whiny, petulant child.
shite, people counter offers for jobs in every industry. Its not only commonplace, but smart to do so when you have leverage like Herman did. Herman was probably dumbfounded that Alleva was offended by it.
Unbelievable.

And then thought to himself shite I'm glad I'm not coaching there.

They are getting better. Herman took over a dumpster fire. Charlie was trying to pull it out but made some bad decisions with personnel. Herman is having to change the entire identity of that program. Mac left it out in the pasture to rot.

There were other options that would have been huge for the program. Everyone knew that what Lsu lacked and yearned for was a modern potent offense from an offensive minded coach. Les had down years but it was the pitiful performance week in and week out offensively that did him in. imo. Brohm would have been a guy I would have liked to see build an offense with Lsu talent
