What I'm saying is that Matthews as two immediate family members who served, his father being career military. Based on some of the interviews he's had, I don't think he would be doing this if his family members who serve felt disrespected. Again, I don't agree with his decision, but if he's willing to sacrifice his career over it, then he'd be showing that he actually has conviction in his protest. I can respect people who do this without having to agree with them.

The questions is, why is this relevant? The impact it is having on the business of the NFL is clear. Whether or not two people in his family feel disrespected is irrelevant to the real issues that are making the NFL consider a rule change.
