Explosiveness. We don’t have it.

Even when we were getting blasted by Alabama, you saw the linesmen explode off the line, and hit somebody even if they were gonna get plowed over.
Now we just start a play, the line kinda goes somewhere, hesitantly, like they’ve never done this before, and we all sit at home or in the stands and laugh.
It’s gotten bad. No fire. No emotion. It’s like watching a company full of people showing up for the paycheck, except they aren’t getting paid.
We’re bad, and we were lucky the Troy score closed up. People seeing the final score think it was an upset. It wasn’t. They were the better team, and we’re lucky, or unlucky, that the score wasn’t lopsided.
Every game looks like 1/09, and with Alleva having to play dad to get the coaches to get along, it won’t get better.
Florida beats us this week, and I think it could be bad.
38-10 Florida in a game that’s never close.

I saw Jesse Palmer at halftime of the game tonight and he said (paraphrasing),"LSU has lost it's identity. You're going to get new coordinators, coaches, etc but never forget who you are. LSU was always a physical team, their defense was the stuff of nightmares for the opposing team. They don't look like that anymore. They fired Miles because his offense was archaic and they couldn't be Bama but this team just looks lost. There's no identity."
Sadly, he's correct.

Hard to be explosive when your line sucks

Though you could be right, Florida looks bad too

Effort.
I don't give two shits about mistakes. What I do give a shite about is effort.
Mistakes are corrected with effort, and effort is a result of pride. Pride in their work, and pride in their school are missing. The ones with their eye on the NFL are mostly overlookong college like overlooking a cupcake on the schedule before a big game.
They CAN be good. They need a WHY.

And identity is one of the main things a coach brings to the team. O has no identity as a HC so why should we expect the team to have one? The only success O has ever had was by riding the coat tails of another coaches identity.

quote:I do believe this is increasingly becoming a problem at LSU, and was even in Miles’ days. I don’t care if it happens “everywhere” or not - it does seem like it is become part of the atmosphere at LSU now - prima donna NFL bound athletes celebrated, tolerated by coaches - even encouraged. Result - rest of team sees this - maybe it feels like favoritism - they can then develop a wtf or idgas attitude that can then look like “going through the motions” play at gametime.

Love for NFL money takes the place of love for your school/team. Everything devalued. I hate the NFL for what their impact has been on college ball players ever since they dropped the requirement that to be NFL eligible you had to finish your college eligibility first.

Y'all keep blaming the line but these guys can't block 2 guys at a time.

And they're kind of depleted.
This could be closer than people think.

As frustrated as I was with the poor QB, development and lack of offensive ability under Miles, you could usually count on LSU standing toe to toe with an opponent and punching them in the mouth.
I wanted Miles gone, but what I see now just makes me sad.

is it a talent issue or is it because of O's soft spring and summer training camps?
