Point is, it was dumb to call the guy dumb for just explaining the political dynamics of something for which the person who he was explaining it to seemed not to understand.
I said "this is really dumb"
It was dumb, perhaps my follow up post makes it more clear why that post was dumb.

The "conservative heroes" are an indestructible meme apparently. It's so fricking weird.

So when fake conservatives like Reagan
Thats my biggest beef with this. Reagan grew the power of the federal govt in huge proportions, yet said other things like
If he believed that govt had a general inability to help people, why expand it to further big government?

This is from Wikipedia, but it shows which one of us is really dumb.
Civil forfeiture activity increased substantially in the past thirty years.[9] It stepped up forfeiture during the War on Drugs during the early 1980s and onwards.[7] It became harder for criminal organizations to launder dirty money by means of the financial system, so drug cartels preferred bulk payments of cash.[10] Illegal drugs are a big business; one estimate was that the annual profit from selling illegal drugs was $12 billion, according to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.[7] The initial intent, similar to methods used to try to fight alcohol trafficking and use during the Prohibition era, was to use civil forfeitures as a weapon against drug kingpins.[11]
According to journalist Sarah Stillman, a major turning point in forfeiture activity was the passage of the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984.[12] This law permitted local and federal law enforcement agencies to divvy up the seized assets and cash.[8] Civil forfeiture allowed federal and local governments to "extract swift penalties from white-collar criminals and offer restitution to victims of fraud", according to Stillman.[8] From 1985 to 1993, authorities confiscated $3 billion of cash and other property based on the federal Asset Forfeiture Program which included both civil and criminal forfeitures.[12] The methods were supported by the Reagan administration as a crime fighting strategy.

That has nothing to do with why what you said is dumb.

Haha, man that's a great question. Be prepared for Reagan defenders to assemble and explain his "good intentions" to you.

Thats great and all, but no where in your quote does it mention that anyone was actually convicted for the money which was seized. Theres a reason for that.
Law enforcement doesnt need a conviction, indictment, charges, or even an arrest to take someones life belongings.

So, apparently you think this is the first instance in the history of the US government where a law (good or bad) was never bastardized or abused, and used against people it was never intended for?

I'm increasingly of the opinion Reagan and Obama were essentially two sides of the same coin. Both espoused ideological ideals that appealed to their respective bases, while governing for the exclusive benefit of the exact same power groups.
A dispassionate analysis of their policies bears this out.

Never said that.
What's with everyone playing the gotcha game with me this week? Just read what I wrote.

But these monsters had "good intentions" and "meant well" and above all, "were Republicans".
I love how everyone rejects that ASUROB is a true Reagan fan because he isn't a super conservative guy, and he believes in gun control. News flash, he is perfectly within the Reagan spectrum. Chuckle heads don't want to admit their boy wasn't some friend of Liberty and small government. Their delusions are great.

Nobody I've read in this thread said Reagan was perfect either. That is you projecting. The fact is he was a hell of a lot more a friend of Liberty and small government than Carter or Dukakis.
I'm assuming you recall that any bill Reagan signed into law came from a house, ran for decades by democrats, headed by Tip O'Neill.
