Well we ended up going the JB Weld route. Think we did everything right except for cleaning the bare aluminum with acetone. Sanded to bare metal, cleaned it well with wet rag, the applied jb weld (both sides) to the screw holes. May test it out this weekend. Should be all good, id imagine.
