re: Why do people send kids to boarding school

I went to Boarding School . Many of the kids were in fact, warehoused by their parents after divorces or disciplinary or academic issues. Others go because they tend to be academically rigorous. Others go because they are an advantage socially. By the time I was 15 I was already basically a little adult that could thrive away from my parents . That had a lot of advantages for me later as it turned out.

All that said, it would be the coldest day in the history of hell that I would send my kids off . It's an emotionally harsh thing for a kid to deal with . It might make you tough as hell - but it comes at a price.
