I don't know anything about nerves on the report. I don't see mention. Is "occluding the left subarticlur recess l5s1" nerve related?

No thats the spinal canal. Which doesnt matter so much since your spinal cord ends around L1, only nerve roots lower than that, they dont need much space in the spinal canal

Yes. There is also mention of the foramen. You have a very tight space for the nerve to escape the spinal column without being harrassed. They can't always "see" nerve impingement, but if you have pain down your leg, you have it.

"Sciatica" (overused, vague term) is really nothing more than a radiculopathy. Something is touching the nerve.

Best of luck. Get another opinion or two and stay the hell away from opiods. Don't know if you're carrying around a little extra weight or not, but if so, losing some will help.
