He used to like to take the crown of his helmet, at full speed, and put it in the softest spot of his opponents head

There was absolutely nothing even remotely dirty about the hit Adams was twisting and fighting for extra yards and NOT in anyway defenseless. If Adams stays upright it's shoulder to shoulder but he's driving his legs and lowers right in to the hit.
