If I hired a clown to juggle at my kid's birthday party, and the clown told me he would be turning his back during the birthday song, I would tell the SOB to get out. And if he told me I didn't get it--that he was only trying to bring attention to racial inequality and meant no disrespect for my kid or his birthday, I would tell the SOB to get out. And if my dad called the SOB an SOB on his way out, I would not tell my dad that he stooped below the dignity of his state.

"Hey, kid...we're all equal down here..."

"And tell your Mayor to clean this damn thing!"

Owners are dependent on the skills of their employees so they aren't going to go against them anytime soon regardless of how they personally feel.

Skills=$$

No, owners are dependent on their players putting on an entertaining game.

Cool. The NFL owners have that right.
Guess what? They like having really good players.

Does the clown generate revenue for you? If not, you're not making a decision that impacts your business when you fire a clown at a kid's birthday party, are you?

A hidden gem of this weekend's events is all of the analogies y'all have been coming up with.

Clowns turning their backs on the birthday song? What?

What about fining them? Same employee with skills, less money paid to them.

One could argue that "revenue" in this analogy is the kids happiness and your own satisfaction from seeing them happy and entertained.

Your kid may also get some dope presents if you put on a good party. Not so much next time if you hired a clown that is an Asa to everyone there.

Sure but are people driven to see happiness on a kid's face the same way they are driven for the almighty dollar?

Is the clown subsidized by my taxes?

Hired Clown Analogy

If you're having heart surgery, do you want a first year resident who hasn't performed surgery or a skilled 20 year surgeon who's done thousands?

It's your analogy, bro.

Maybe your clown is on welfare.

This is the first thread that made me laugh out loud.

I keep getting this picture of a clown turning his back during the blowing out of the candles to protest racial injustice and then getting thrown out of a kid's birthday party while the kid's pops and grandpa scream at him and call him a son of a bitch.

That really depends on whether or not that 20 year surgeon stands for the national anthem doesn't it?

But what if he was really, really really good at juggling? Would you make an exception?

We're talking about juggling clowns here, not surgeons.
