It's more than that and I do think there's a chance that ratings will be impacted in the near term. But the fact of the matter is that fans aren't going anywhere long term--at least not over this. Either the players will lose interest and the protests will fade, or there will be a smattering of players for whom this becomes the new norm and people will simply stop noticing.
THIS
I keep saying, Football in America is too big to fail.

Fine. Tens of thousands.

I'm just excited to see everyone claim victory like they did with the last "boycott," although numbers are on par with the rest of the market.

Agree. Same as how all the threats to boycott New Orleans over monument removal haven't done squat. Turns out to be just hot air from mouth breathers.

liberal logic 101.
however, a simple comparison of year over year will show that is simply not true.
there has never been a trend for the NFL to consistently lose ratings as the season goes on.
feel free to make up anything else you think might sound cool.

Your right about the monuments....
however the last time I checked they were going to solve problems....
but as you said -- haven't done squat.
This should be the new liberal talking point! I haven't done squat! I haven't done squat in my life. So I must virtue signal!!!

Are you really this naive

A lot of people like myself have been boycotting the NFL for years. Not so much out of any political conviction as the fact that they're selling a shitty product. And have been for some time.

and ratings will not dip that much. NFL teams play in big cities that are mostly liberal. They will keep watching.
The rural south isn't a huge supporter of the NFL anyway and this is where the protesting is the biggest issue.

Except for their rating continue to drop.

the averages of Sunday afternoon games on Fox and CBS are down 11% and 19% respectively, according to Nielsen data.

So you think liberals are the primary NFL fan base?
Sorry that doesn't fit into the Drama Queen hysteria that defines this board.

My boycott is personal and I don't care what affect it has. I can only hope that enough people feel like me and that those numbers will have an affect.

I'd bet liberals comprise 30% of the NFL crowd.

Oh this is the part where we rewrite the narrative and history?
