Haven't read through all of the pages but has anyone mentioned that we've had a few running plays recently where the OG is pulling and the play gets blown up before it has a chance to be executed?

Are we pulling an OG more frequently than we did in the past under Miles/Cameron?

I've seen a pulling strong side guard that's covered by a DT and the center attempting a reach block. That is doomed to failure. When I've seen this happen, the DT blows the play to pieces.
We've seen this happen more and more over the last couple years. Sometimes it's the LB crashing.

Of course Bama is the best example... how many times did we see Fournette get slowed down at point-of-attack with pulling lineman not getting away from LoS and a LB come from the side or behind.

Many teams do such to us now. If you see a OL pull, just follow him and rely on the other side to cause a delay. Sometimes they're quick enough to blow it up without that delay.

RPO, designed cut backs, screens, throw backs- we don't run 'em so the risk of just following the OL on a pull is minimal. Additionally, if it's the LB doing the disrupting the play, what's your concern about a TE slipping behind you in the middle? very little. Even more additionally, at least before Canada, the FB always went to point-of-attack and rarely sealed that backside. So it was an easy key to read for the LBs and DL alike.

Canada can, and does sometimes, use the F-back to either seal that backside or at least make the keys harder to read. It has helped with the off-tackle running where we're pulling OL.
